Pacquiao vs Marquez part III

The Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez rematch last Sunday, as expected, sure was a pretty good fight yet again. Though the third round knock-down punch Pacquiao gave Marquez didn’t seal the deal for a convincing win, it was enough for the judges to give Pacquiao the belt for a split-decision victory over Marquez.

The funny thing here is before who the winner was announced, Pacquiao can actually be seen inside the ring gesturing as if he was congratulating Marquez already, he probably thought it was yet another draw like what happened in their first fight back in 2006 where Marquez, by default retained the belt, which is why he looked surprised when he was announced the victor by judges’ decision.

As for the fighters, this may only mean one thing - a rematch. If Pacquiao himself is not convinced of his victory over Marquez, it would be safe to assume, without the agreements and contract negotiations of course, that Pacquiao would be willing to fight Marquez for a third time to prove who is the superior fighter between the two of them; If he really is the warrior that we’ve seen he is, which I believe he has already proven through his years as a fighter.

Too bad Marquez is not getting any younger… So if ever they are planning a rematch, I really hope it pushes through before long, as pitting these two fighters is one heck of a good fight to watch.
