Designer’s Dilemma

Oscar De la Hoya vs Steve Forbes happened today, dubbed by the promoters as “The Homecoming” as majority of the crowd are De la Hoya fans. Though Steve Forbes has never been knocked out in his career as a professional boxer, viewers, including myself wanted a definitive Knock-Out from De la Hoya. Oscar won by a convincing unanimous decision but nonetheless disappointing as no one really expected Forbes to last long against De la Hoya.

The main reason why the fight is a disappointing one is that this (fight) was supposed to be a “tune-up” fight for Oscar in preparation for his rematch against Floyd Mayweather Jr, dubbed as today’s best pound-per-pound fighter. The rematch is still being negotiated as of the moment, and this match plays a pivotal role in measuring De la Hoya’s chances against Mayweather Jr.

So the remaining question now is: Is De la Hoya Ready for Mayweather Jr?
